Certain updates can take a very long time to download, that is why this week PSO2 implemented a Pre-Downloading system. It allows you to download the next major update ahead of schedule which helps reduce congestion on their servers.
Update: The Pre-Downloader is now out of service due to a problem SEGA discovered. The Pre-Downloader will be back online in the future.
Pre-Downloader Features
- You can choose to download an update when you start the game.
- The update will download while you are playing the game.
- Updates are downloaded to an exclusive folder separate from the game data.
Due to this system, the minimum requirements for the game has changed slightly.
When the launcher starts up, it will ask if you want to download the next update. Press Yes (Y) to download the update, or press No (N) to download it at a later time.
If you selected Yes, you can continue to play the game while you download the update.
