Questions & Answers

Will there be other opportunities to obtain Atol Orbit?

  • They don’t have plans for this, however another version of the Orbit weapons will be implemented eventually through Ultra Hard.

What are the requirements for Ultra Hard?

  • Lv.85 for Main and Sub Class will be required.

Will there be plans to update the Expert conditions?

  • Yep! It won’t happen at the launch of Episode 6, but they’ll eventually change the conditions at some point in the future. It appears you’ll need to do solo content this time.

Will “Tech Arts” type skills/rings/abilities apply to Phantoms when they connect Normal PAs to Shift PAs?

  • Tech Arts-type effects require different PAs to connect. If you do Normal PA1 -> Shift PA1, this won’t count because they’re classified as the same PA. Instead you’d need to do Normal PA1 -> Shift PA2 for it to apply.

Are there plans to redistribute the Basilis Weapons?

  • Yes! The Basilis weapons will eventually make a comeback as a drop.

At what point will they allow trading for all ★13 weapons?

  • It’s still too early to say, but someday they want to do it.

Will they bring premium service for the Random Drink?

  • They don’t have plans for this.

Do they have plans for new compound rings?

  • At present, they do not have plans for new compound rings.

Will the Evleda Unit upgrade be strong enough for Ultra Hard?

  • Yes.

So how many people have the entire Austere-NT series?

  • A total of 13 players has obtained every weapon type of Austere-NT

Do they have plans to raise the PA/Tech level?

  • No.

Hey, so a while back you made adjustments for Bravers in regards to Rapid Shoot and Divine Raikou’s potential. Will we see something similar for Techers, like Wand’s normal attack speed and Lavis Cannon’s potential?

  • Adjustments will be made to Wand’s normal attack speed. We’re going to raise it so that it’s of similar speed to the current S4: Swift Strike. In addition, S4: Swift Strike will be adjusted to be a little bit faster, and will be placed about halfway between Wand’s normal attack speed and Lavis Cannon’s speed.

58 thoughts to “PSO2 Station #29 Recap”

  1. so.. its crit/crit dmg up based on PP, and from the last demo vid Ph will be usefull for boss hunting, specialy for the rifle..

  2. 60% chance at 300PP, so probably around 30% at 200PP if value per SP is equal. Damn, that’s low maybe i should swap crit dmg SAF with crit chance SAF.

If that Konosuba collab don’t include Aqua voice i’m gonna riot! Shame on Gene tho, Law’s EB is more usefull (AoE attack + Heal) than Chaos (Heal is replaced by Paralyze chnce to enemies) but her Chaos’s art just too lewd to be ignored *wipesweat*

  3. Was really hoping to get Attack Jellen available as sub ….

Now, chance of my plan to go for GuPh just went down (less damage multiplier from Hu as sub too, I think) :<

    1. That’s Ph weapon bonus. All attack bonus is like Su’s skill (Same name, different multiplier).

  4. They should just remove Klotho and his terrible quests altogether.
TACOs are cancer that was plaguing PSO2 economy for way too long.

    1. Pretty much this. but tbh I think leaving them with tiny amounts of Meseta is far better for those who still want to run the Daily Client orders than outright removing it. Judging by the Arks Mission preview the rewards will be so high that Klotho will become ignorable which is a big improvement in my book especially since Arks Missions will 100% be randomized, giving you a variety of content to play, rather than the same friggin mission each week 5 times on multiple characters.

  5. sort of mixed feelings RE: them messing with klotho to encourage people to pay attention to the replacement of arksroad. on one hand TAs have gotten really dull over the years. on the other hand, there’s no telling what cancer they’ll ask for instead, particularly if endless is on the table… itself suggesting to me that someone’s annoyed that it’s not more popular IE kimura’s doing his “must micromanage player activity” thing again. I’d rather they go over the payout of daily orders and make it so more of them besides the SH S/A rank and kill-boss things (and vh rodos) pay out enough to warrant doing them, ditto other npc’s COs since most aren’t worth doing basically ever, instead of telling me “go do this content that’s for a kind of dick measuring you’re not interested in” on a worse level. if you tell me you do every one of faina’s orders every day I’m calling you a liar, especially with the busterquest ones since buster has been dead for more than half a year and even the newest tweaks don’t make it actually fun to solo instead of boring/time consuming.
likewise a bit of trepidation about them making forest ff end with the actual boss of forest instead of it’s midboss, because A) sir fangbang (and his cold weather cousin) is a bitch for newbs (yes, they matter), and B) it may make orders for 61+ rockbear a hassle in exchange for letting them give orders for sir fangbang because I doubt the prologue is going to scale to the appropriate levels and various other easy-access-to-this-enemy content choices tend to be set so that the bosses are a level below their difficulty threshold. (and seeing them want to lower levels of mobs in the lowest level areas of the game is kinda . . . you what, mate?)

PAs on the subpallete is a long-awaited addition. particularly nice for non-FOs who don’t have means of comfortable/effective use of 3button (because FO already could put techs on the bar, I mean). I wonder if that’ll include weapon actions since as herotalis’ warp stuff gets to be assigned like one even in 2button mode.
looks like phantom’s styled as it is because huey found a chuuni af edgelord this time, rather than anything deeper. I chortle.
“beyond exploration”… I guess that’s the thing that’s been popping up in the client as “travel quest” …? time will tell.
    >new PAs for sword and jetboots
wheeee, new stuff! and holy crap at them actually giving jetboot a new move after all this time. now if they’d fix BO’s stance multis already (and perk up average stance on BR, too…)
    >new PA system
    oh? just what exactly…

    >another new class being discussed sometime in winter
fascinating, maybe they realized that the one-per-ep thing doesn’t necessarily go all that well.

    1. Typical. They nerf Klotho, who people are way too reliant on to get money ata decent pace, and put all the meseta into “Afk in Endless quest since you can’t fail them” and somehow you find a way to shit on Kimura for this.

  6. Excellent translation. From the scope of a native Japanese, the editors’ efforts have been impressed me always and once again!

We’ve got 『閃機種』 — yet another coined word. ‘The Luminmechs’ will not be bad.
I recommend something evokes ‘spark (of light)’ to represent their racial label.

As the headline of Episode 6 「翔べ、閃光の宇宙へ。」 says, the word 『閃光』 associated with ‘spark’, ‘flash’ otherwise ‘(to) brandish’: an intense, short-living emission of light (like an electric arc, or fireworks).
I feel lasting, constant illumination from the generic prefix ‘lumi-‘.

  7. Can someone please change the konosuba to God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World? It isn’t “Give”…

    1. +1

THIS is what I’ve been waiting for since they announced the first anime a few years ago! Fingers crossed that its good!

  8. About the 「ネメス・アンジュール」 I disagree on the name, I read it Nemes Angel. I have a doubt about what if means “give it the French pronunciation” since it doesn’t look like what the katakana spells (surprise me with a vocaroo maybe ?).

    1. Well, it’s not exactly Angel, even tho it’s pronounced similar.

      オメガ・アンゲル
      Omega Angel

Though, it might change from Ange, but that’s we’re calling it for now. However, I wonder if it’s meant to be named after a god from some mythology like the Ep6 Villains are named after them.

    2. You do realize that “Ange” in French is pronounced more like “Anj” and is an angel ?
I can understand having アンゲル translated to “angel” because it could be a mistake on SEGA’s end not doing English properly, but maybe this time they are properly calling it “angel”.

Lately the translations seem to take some liberties with the Atra becoming Atlas or Dimension being spelt Dimenxion (because never forget Xion?).
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Jutus getting renamed Justice while we are at it.

Anyway I was just giving my 2 cents because I felt that the “chosen” translation (not that we voted or anything) felt wrong, especially when we give it a French pronunciation.

    3. @Senpaisilver
I’ve always thought that “Jutus” name followed the Juts, thus referring to the medieval times in the British Isles. This reference to “justice” is new to me. The universe of romanization is indeed hard.

    4. Can a Japanese help? 😉

I also have no exact clue of the dev’s direction, however, I agree that the arrangement of the katakana letters mimics the notation of transliterated à-la-française feature. From this point, the last 『ール』 should be transcribed with ‘R’ sound after the final vowel (e.g. “noir”, “concours”).

Let me analogize it. “Injure” [ɛ̃ʒyʀ] can be a potential candidate.
      https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/french-english/injure

If you think that the spelling is too bold or confusingly similar to the English counterpart, “Nemes Anjure” will match. Won’t?

    5. Thanks to your suggestion, it looks like we’ll go with Anjure for now since it works well with both Nemes(is) and Injure (Abuse).

    6. The light of our primary star reminds me:
In katakana notation, we dictate “Bonjour” as 「ボンジュール」. *lol*

It’s nine AM here. Good morning ARKS!

    7. @SUGHAYYER: I made it up, it was an attempt to mirror Atra and Atlas by taking a word similar.
Also justice and light (Lumiere) can be related in some way (the light is the justice while the dark is bad).

@フレイ: I’m fine with your proposition, I like it. I think it fits correctly an enemy.

    8. Not on the translation team and I question Atlas myself, but I find Dimexion perfectly reasonable.

      ディメシオン

This, like the rest of the Persona weapons, all take existing words but change the last part. If you look at this, calling it Dimension would be wrong, even if you ignored the fact Sega spells シオン as Xion as there isn’t an N in the middle. So even if you dropped the X, you would still have Dimesion.

    1. Which is good. The only reason people do it is for the money instead of actual “Time Attack” anyway. Hopefully Arks Mission will be less repetitive than spamming Harkotan TA for 5 times. I haven’t done TA for almost a year because it’s getting stale. Better use my time on affixing since it’s more profitable anyway.

  9. On the one hand, I’ll be happy to have new objectives for meseta…
On the other, I have twelve characters I can run TAs on. I run them in sets of five or six, twice a week. I also hemorrhage meseta on cosmetics like CRAZY.
If those new objectives aren’t character-based, people like me suddenly have almost no reason to have so many characters.

  10. Shouldn’t the team tree improvement be something among the lines of “pick any support effect at anytime you want” (as in the effects won’t ever be greyed out anymore) instead of “select all effects”? In the video, it’s clear the player can still only pick one out of the five.

    1. Lyudmila to be even more correct ^_^
      ——————————————————
      Even katakana says it’s Ryudomira:
Ri + small Yu give sound Ryu
Do – sounds ending with O commonly used in foreign words/names and skipped while pronouncing
      Mi is just Mi
      Ra is just Ra
ミッラ – this would be mirra/milla, but since small Tsu is absent, there’s no double L.
      ——————————————————
Dunno why they wrote Ludmilla in article 🙂

    2. @ARKANPHER

It’s usually considered bad form to transliterate like that, simply taking the kana and plainly converting it to roman alphabet. When dealing with different alphabets, it’s important to contextualize. A good example of that is the in-game “Elder Bulazo” arm unit, which should probably be “Elder Brazo” (Elder Arm). And so on….

PS: I’m *not* in the translation team, and although I am a Linguistics student, my Japanese knowledge is still pretty narrow, so don’t quote me on anything. There are other people here who are way more knowledgeable than me.

    3. Hmmm…I see your point RICARDO 🙂
Since Ep.6 takes place in space she might be named after that asteroid.
But on the other hand she’s a female character, so there’s also probability they used slavic name.
I’ve also rewatched 「Stars:EPISODE6」video right now. At 5:50-5:52 when she is introducing herself, she says Ryudomira (not Ru and not double R in the end).

Well…it’s not my blog so just ignore me 😛

    4. 『ミトラ』 reflects ‘Mitra’ — as the other side of ‘Varuna’ deity both appear in 《Rigveda》 the ancient Indian literature.

      * It notifies that there’s a dwarf planet named after ‘Varuna’. Hmm… they’re on the same track.

  11. About the Armada quest: I don’t think it should be called “The Last Armada”, but the “Armada of the End” or “Armada of Demise”, as they bring demise.

  12. “PSO2 will retain its premise of allowing you to “play with your favorite weapons and class” by continuing to update all classes throughout Episode 6.”

But will they still follow the “Hunter is a Tank class and Techer is a support class” kind of idea?

    1. They better. Hunter is a subpar DPS, even with a great subclass and skill setup. Techer can absolutely bring the hurt, but they should be REWORKING FORCE so IT can be the true magic DPS, NOT Techer. I think of Techer as a cleric or paladin. I think of Force as a wizard or sorcerer.

  13. btw, tossing a couple points out there from the broadcast that I’m finding off the .jp web

☞along with making subclasses get exp up to L70 they’re raising the subclass exp gain from 10% to 25%
☞one of the ep6 additions is some kind of marker icon to help recognise when you’re pulling aggro from something
☞they’re going to yet again try to make it easier to get/apply yamato factor
☞they have no intentions to start the ep with a nerf storm again
☞they seem to be intent on making it so new gameplay-affecting changes come in forms where you can turn them on or off, with the given example being making changes to hold type PAs of WL via a ring rather than just changing them directly

  14. The best thing sega can do for FOs is remove the ridiculous CD on compounds, imo (why did they even do that, because FOs were too OP with compounds?), also I wish players who do the KK’S CO for the compounds get rewarded with lvl 17 compound disks.
Also, seriously, on phantom, did sega really had to give the highest dmg multiplyer to strike dmg? Why not to Tech or even Range, like leave the strike zone for once, imo once again but whatevs, sega already decided and their word is “”ABSOLUTE””

    1. Yes, without the Cooldown Fo/Te was extremely OP, being able to spam Barantsion every minute. The way it currently is, forcing you to use the other two while the used one is on CD is a nice compromise imo.

    2. Compund is supposed to be only 1 level in the first place. What, you want it’s DPS to be more broken?
“WHY STRIKING IS THE HIGHEST MULTIPLIER!!” well, duh because 90% of striking attacks need the player to be as close as possible to the enemies. Y’know high risk high reward. Phantom itself is supposed to be “striking PA with some tech in between”, not the other way around…well, at least for the supposedly main-main weapon Rod. I myself kinda ticked by the fact that there’s nothing unique with Rifle and Katana.

  15. Now that some time has passed and the info has been properly put up, the sections look nice. Makes it easy to look for the info about a specific thing!

  16. >no more compound rings, sega too goddamn stupid to combine both katana rings
    >people actually still want the stupid orbit gs when you can get 432%pp regen with s1-3 and sega probably also too stupid to realize it’s possible despite developing it
    >10 more lvls and new difficulty but not raising pa lvl even when the hp rise from lvl 80 to 85 alone is truly massive, still hard to even clear Perpetual Madness with expert randoms cause most don’t have enough dps
