You will consume Photon Points each time you  roll!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"srank\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Shield<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"small\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1980\" title=\"the new shield\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bumped.org\/psublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/the-new-shield.png?resize=259%2C147\" alt=\"the new shield\" width=\"259\" height=\"147\" \/><br \/>\nNote how the shield has it's own icon on the right hand slot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The shield is now a new weapon category. The shield takes up the left arms slot which is normally used by guns or mags. You can use the shield by pressing the R button.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the shield is in use you will not be able to attack, your PP will be consumed<strong><span style=\"color: #ff99cc;\"> <\/span><\/strong>, and the damage you receive will be greatly reduced.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1981\" title=\"just gaurdo\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bumped.org\/psublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/just-gaurdo.png?resize=258%2C147\" alt=\"just gaurdo\" width=\"258\" height=\"147\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fortunately, you can attack an enemy by using your shield at the right moment. This is known as the \"<strong>Just Guard<\/strong>\". If you successfully pull off a \"Just Guard\", the damage you receive will be reduced to zero and your Photon Points will not be consumed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Guarding is also possible with two handed weapons (ex. the spear), <strong>however, you can not guard with the rod.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"srank\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Photon Points<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"small\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1983\" title=\"dont spam photon arts\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bumped.org\/psublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/dont-spam-photon-arts.png?resize=257%2C146\" alt=\"dont spam photon arts\" width=\"257\" height=\"146\" \/><br \/>\nSorry time attackers&#8230; You can't spam Photon Arts anymore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Photon Points <strong>(PP)<\/strong> have changed considerably since PSU. Now, PP are attached to your character and not your weapons. To increase strategy, <strong><span style=\"color: #ff99cc;\">Sega has  removed photon charges from the game<\/span>. This is to prevent us from relying too heavily on Photon Arts. Sega wants players to mix up their attacks instead.<\/strong> (Note: We are unsure how this will apply to For<strong>ces.) <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>In order to regain PP, you can do either of the following:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Wait for natural regeneration of Photon Points.<\/li>\n<li>Use normal attacks against an enemy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a side note, we do not know if PP Cubes will return before each boss at this time. Although it has not been confirmed for this game, in Phantasy Star Universe, you can regenerate a larger amount of Photon Points by performing \"Just Attacks\", (where you time the button presses of each normal attack.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"srank\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Charge Shots<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1985\" title=\"charge shot 1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bumped.org\/psublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/charge-shot-1.png?resize=164%2C132\" alt=\"charge shot 1\" width=\"164\" height=\"132\" \/><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1986\" title=\"charge shot 2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bumped.org\/psublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/charge-shot-2.png?resize=113%2C132\" alt=\"charge shot 2\" width=\"113\" height=\"132\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"small\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Note the gigantic sparkle!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Charge shots is a new feature for ranged weapons, it allows you to shoot a more powerful bullet. Charge Shots will use a considerable amount of PP, so it's best not to use it over and over. This action will also change the shooting animation as you can see in the screenshot above.
