Phantasy Star Online 2 International Release in Early 2013

Well the wait is over, Phantasy Star Online 2 is finally coming outside of Japan and onto our shores. According to the press release sent to PSO-World:

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON – July 9th, 2012 – SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe Ltd today announced that free-to-play multiplayer action RPG Phantasy Star Online 2 will be coming to North America and Europe in 2013. For a first look at this new entry in the legendary Phantasy Star series, check out the official Phantasy Star Online 2 teaser site at www.pso2.com.

Phantasy Star Online 2’s features include:

  • Deep sci-fi fantasy universe filled with lush landscapes, extraordinary creatures, and epic adventures
  • Revolutionary real-time combat and third-person action with devastating combos and counters to master
  • Flexible, class-based leveling system that lets players define their own play-style with distinctive melee, ranged, and magic weapon types

Phantasy Star Online 2 will be undergoing maintenance July 9th, 2012.

Maintenance Schedule

  • July 9th, 2012 @ 11:00 AM ~ 4:00 PM JST 
  • July 8th, 2012 @ 10:00 PM ~ 3:00 AM EDT
  • Other Time Zones

Maintenance Contents

  • To change the number of blocks on each ship in response to the number of concurrent connections and premium block status.
  • To set a limit to the number of characters that can be made on Ship 10.

There's also an English community on Ship 10, so if you are new you should try to join them as quick as possible since Ship 1 through 5 are all full.

So you've heard the news about the overcrowding of Ships 1 through 5. To disperse the number of people that login to each ship, the team has decided to start a new campaign!

Campaign Period:

  • July 4th, 2012 through August 1st, 2012 @ 11:00 JST

Conditions:

  • Those who create a new character on Ship 6 through Ship 10  during the duration of the campaign period and reach to level 15 on any class will receive a Crappy Plate and 1000 FUN points ticket.

Item Distribution

  • The items will be distributed mid-August as an item code.

 There's also an English community on Ship 10 Block 20.
