Sega has just announced the Smartphone version aka Phantasy Star Online 2 es has been delayed until 2013. The smartphone version is said to be a sub platform of the Vita and PC version. Though they intended to release the game sometime this winter, they regretfully decided to push back the release until 2013. This will allow them to further improve the quality of the game.

Just a brief update, today we learned that the Phantasy Star Online 2 Vita version comes out on February 28th, 2013. The latest Famitsu magazine revealed that the Vita version will also have its own Closed Beta Test starting sometime in January. We should expect to hear official details about this soon and this post will update accordingly.
Phantasy Star Online 2 requires an update in order to continue playing the game. When you open the launcher, the game will automatically update both the game and launcher if necessary.
