August 5th Tidbits

Late August Update

  • Kingdom Fantasy Scratch
    • Luther, Harriett, and Alisa Layered Wear
    • Cuent Natives outfit
    • Scratch Bonus: Arm Claws L/R & Missile Lobby Action

Late August Update

  • New limited-time Event: ARKS Boost Rally
  • The Boost effect increases when you clear the targeted quests.
  • The boost effect will increase based on the difficulty cleared.
  • Advance Quests: Coast, Volcano, and Shironia will host the first Rally.

 

Stratos Weapon Camo

  • The weapon camo will be awarded through a Story Quest campaign.
  • The camo is called Lux Frieden.
  • Campaign begins August 9th.

Cross-Block Matching Bugs

  • They are planning to do a partial fix next maintenance, but there will be another fix arriving August 16th.

Arks Battle Tournament

  • Apparently there was a bug discovered during the tournament where one could cast invisible Technics. They're going to implement that bug fix around September.

Buster Quests

  • [MM Advanced] requires Class level 80/80 and 3000 Buster Points. The drop contents will be the same as [MM], but in [Advanced] you'll have a better shot at rares.
  • If you disconnect or logout during the quest, you'll lose even more Buster Points than normal.
  • 3000 Buster Points is the maximum you can have. 
  • Buster Quests will have the 999,999 damage cap.
  • [MM] has 2 Devil Barriers, while [MM Advanced] gets 4 Devil Barriers.
  • The ★14 Demonia weapon series and the ★12 units will drop on the higher end difficulties.
  • If you haven't done so already, make sure to play through EP5's Story Quest in order to access Buster Quests when it launches.

Expert Matching

  • Expert Player matching will work regardless of difficulty, but it will not work specifically for [Free Match Buster Quests].

Advance Quest: Shironia

  • Shironia will have a low chance to drop Chandra stones.

Battle Arena

  • The weapons you pick up from the mining spot have special abilities attached.

Heroes

  • First Blood does not apply to the A.I.S.
  • For basic attacks, they're going to slightly modify the jump cancellation timing due to an issue that occurs with macros.
  • During development, there were talks over having a gauge or some such for Hero Boost, but it was dropped due to visibility concerns.

ARKS Boost Rally

  • A new ★13 Sword called "Altacray" will drop for this event.

Cross Block Matching

  • They plan to fix some bugs with Cross Block Matching. They want to get those in before Buster Quests are implemented.

Deus Esca Trigger

  • They plan to release a Deus Esca trigger in the future.

Nightmare Vegas

  • This boss is voiced by Daichi Kanbara.

Next Class

  • A new class will be released after Episode 5 that's also going to be an advanced class. This advanced class might release for Episode 6?

Existing Classes

  • They plan to add skills and change some of the behavior of existing classes.
  • They're going to buff techer! However, they haven't decided what they plan to do.

Scratch Exchange Ticket

  • They're planning a scratch exchange ticket for SG Scratch.

Mini Rappy Suit

  • They think they might do color variations of the mini rappy suit. Maybe?

Bathing Suit/Swimwear Qualification

  • They apparently made the decision not to include the Fundoshi as swimwear. The qualification isn't about showing off skin, but rather, whether an article of clothing is actually considered swimwear. Since the Fundoshi is considered underwear, it will not qualify for Beach Wars.

Heroes

  • At present, they do not have plans to nerf Heroes. (They're still going to correct balance issues however, like that unlimited PP thing.)

ARKS Boost Rally

  • It's similar to Gurhal Boost Road from PSU.
  • This will target Advance Quests: Volcano, Coast, & Shironia.
  • You'll experience a boost based on the difficulty cleared for the targeted quests.
  • This event will drop a 13 star sword with a potential that's beneficial to Hero.
  • (I'm not sure if they talked about the sword, but people were able to deduce that it's a sword from the Episode 5 Start Guide. If this is correct, then the sword is called "Altercray" or "Altacray." It has a potential that increases power by x% and increases power for a limited time when Heroes evade an enemy's attack.)

Maintenance Reasoning

To correct the following issues that occurred with cross-block matching.

  • An issue where the collection sheet gauge failed to rise.
  • An issue where the collection sheet item refused to drop at 100%.

They apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and will consider some form of compensation in the future.

The following Emergency Quests will be rescheduled:

    • July 28th @ 2:00 → August 2nd @ 2:00 JST
  • Beach Wars 2017!
    • July 28th @ 7:00 → August 1st @ 7:00 JST

PSO2: July 26 Update Preview

Hero Class

Hero is finally arriving to PSO2 on July 26th. This class utilizes Swords, Twin Machine Guns, and Talises, and can switch between them on the fly with special PAs. You can learn more about Heroes in our preview post.

 

Story Quest

Episode 5 doesn't utilize concepts like Story Boards and Matter Boards from previous updates. Instead, the story will be accessed in a much simpler manner with quests focusing on action and "quests" focusing on events. The story can be initiated either from the Bridge or Quest Counter. You can even select the difficulty with [Easy] or [Normal].

The story centers around a black hole that is expanding at an alarming rate. Fearing for the worst that the entire universe will get sucked in, our heroes head to Omega, a "dream" derived of the Akashic Record.

 

Omnibus Quests

Omnibus Quests are a reconstruction of the stories from Episode 1 through Episode 3. The quests can be initiated from Alma who will provide commentary to the various events. Players both new and old can enjoy this feature as there might be some discoveries left to learn.

Omnibus Quests will start with Episode 1, with plans to release the remaining episodes in the future.

 

Beach Wars 2017

The 2017 iteration of Beach Wars will have Aratron appear in an Emergency Trial. Speaking of which, Aratron Phemut and Gal Gryphon will appear as bosses within the quest.

 

Beach Wars will also have its own Collection File with the new [Fornis Gennes] knuckles. Other Fornis weapons will cover Assault Rifle and Rod. The ★13 partisan [Grandia]  will appear as a drop in the quest.

 

 

Other Changes

Lobby Changes

  • Shirona is finally getting a counter in the lobby.
  • Some NPC locations will change.

Fine Tuned Accessory Adjustment

  • The slider has been upgraded for a more fine tuned placement of accessories.

Accessory Stacking

  • You can now stack the same accessory up to 4 times!

Aesthetic Ticket Account Sharing

  • Using the same ticket twice will enable that product to be used on the entire account. This will also apply if you registered the same accessory to different characters prior to Episode 5.
  • (They did not specify the entire scope of items that fall under this rule, but we do know that Accessory Tickets were heavily implied.)

Multi-Block Quest Matching

  • You can now match up with players from different blocks. This is an optional feature that can be chosen prior to starting the quest.

Material Storage

  • This storage box only allows items classified under "Materials" and "Order Items."  You can transfer these kinds of items from your Item Pack to the Material Storage. This feature is an AC service costing 1,500 for 30 days, and 3,600 for 90 days.

Client Order Adjustments

  • Relaxed Koffie's Field unlocking Orders
  • Relaxed the conditions for Skill Point Client Orders.
    • RNG/EQ enemies will be replaced with Free Field enemies.
  • Revelle will receive new ESCA-Darker orders.
  • Hans and Revelle orders will see some improvements.

Effort Symbol Hero

  • An Effort Symbol ring will be added for Hero. You'll need to collect "Hr Materials" from [Solo Training: Bounds of Corruption] to create this ring.

Recycle Shop Access

  • The Recycle Shop can now be accessed from the Camp Ship.

My Set Expansion

  • Added 3 more My Set slots to the Class Counter

More items to the Exchange Shop

  • Trade in [Episode Zero Memory] for Gettemhart and Melphonsina layered wear and hairstyles.
  • Trade in [Weapono! Memory] for PSO2es comic related items.

 

Legendary Heroes AC Scratch

This scratch contains hero themed layeredwear and accessories.

 

Outfits for [tooltip type="link" link="#" target="_self" tooltip="(Summoners in the fantasy sense)" style="top" ]summoners[/tooltip] from the land of Cuent will also appear.

 

This time we'll have cast parts from the Vodham series and Croire series.
