Phantasy Star Portable 2 meets Streets of Rage

Hah and you thought it was an early April Fools joke, didn't ya? Didn't ya! Today Sakai announced his new game Phantasy Stars of Rage!* In this game you'll play a single player mode mission where you will fight in a side scrolling manner. Amazingly it looks just like a beat-em up game. I didn't think they could have gotten the perspective so perfect! Sorry, but no Partner Machines are allowed to fight.

Also in this mission, you'll receive special Gemaga Tickets  and exchange them for a "Gemaga goody bag" with Bask! Who knows what could be inside! It appears you can exchange the tickets to get some weapons like the "Dream Fisher" with NiGHTS on a fishing rod! But wait, there's more!

There's also going to be a super bonus special stage! Hmm something in this picture reminds me of Street Fighter 2…

Expect this mission to hit April 7th, 2010.

A very popular question on this site is when will the next update to the Wandering (Interstellar) Peddler 3. Unfortunately it has been discontinued. He will deliver the expected items in missions coming up later on. He apologizes for whatever chaos this news will bring.

Phantasy Star Universe: Series Finale

Just to remind everyone, Phantasy Star Universe  for Playstation 2 / PC  English Server will shut down today. I'm sure everyone will be scrambling to save their characters via that other thing… Anyway, it's been a great run, and I appreciate meeting all of you, considering I chose not to speak in public within the game. I will be on for the final day chatting to everyone tonight around 6-9pm EST. I will still continue to blog and participate in wherever the Phantasy Star takes us next.

Streets of Rage in my PSP2?

Very odd news, but I believe this is why the Gemaga mission was delayed for so long. According to the latest Gemaga magazine via Shougai PSO, the next download mission will be titled, " ゲーマガ 天守閣の乱" Gemega Castle Tower Rebellion. The camera will be fixed in a side scrolling manner to mimic a beat'em up game, for example "Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle". The mission will include adversaries Shizuru, and all three Vol Bros, expect the mission to release around April 7th, 2010.

We hope to see some news from Sakai on how exactly this mission will pan out. See you soon!

Phantasy Star Portable 2: Dragon Sakai Suit and School Uniforms

Ah yes, Spring has sprung in Japan at least. Looks like the cherry blossoms budding and waiting to fill the world with their precious colors! A new download item will be ready just in time for April fools day!

So today Sakai is introducing the Dragon Sakai Suit for both men and women! This sparkly outfit comes with an incredibly huge bowtie! Also, Space Channel 5 enthusiasts will enjoy the Hal Dress, PEAK UP!!! (I'm expecting these outfits to sneak inside that PSUJP 2nd Update.) These outfits are available only at the Japanese Playstation Store on March 31st.

Discipline!

One of the cool things I like about DLC is how you can introduce new story elements out of nowhere, thus the "Disciplinary Committee Executor" was born! The next download item for April will include brand new school uniforms! Executors keeps peace and order within "Clad Academy." Wait a minute, Clad Academy? Where did this come from?

Each of these or what you could call "elite hall monitors", will proudly show their status through a nifty armband. There's also a signature flower like logo on top of their overcoats which will act as a lineshield changing color based on the element. The executors also come with a unique weapon but Sakai didn't want to reveal what it is at this time.
