Phantasy Star Portable 2: Karakuridōji Ultimo, NiGHTS into Dreams, Tropical Rainforest

I know those crazy fans at NiGHTS into Dreams are going frantic trying to get NiGHTS into Sega Allstar Racing but at least he is a weapon in this game.

Karakuridōji Ultimo Collaboration

shaman king

Hiroyuki Takei of Shaman King and Karakuridōji Ultimo, brings us the 5th Manga Collaboration piece for Phantasy Star Portable 2. The outfit is called Hanhel Tsuna-gin. I believe the name refers to a "half a helmet/hardhat"  that "fills" or protects the body instead of the head.  The name of the weapon is "TRUE HASH" in English characters, thank goodness.

Tropical Rainforest

Tropical rainforest

Another brand new field, this time it looks like a cross between Habirao forbidden district, and the Forested Islands. It includes a new boss "Bug Degga". Actually this boss is featured as a normal enemy in Bruce's Dungeon in the demo. It attacks by rushing into you with electricity. In Bruce's Dungeon it can also stun you if you stand close to it while it is charging.

In the screenshot you can see a puppet form of NiGHTS  as a Madoog or Shadoog weapon. While it floats it leaves a trail of sparkles just like the real one!

main chara size

If you are into this sort of thing, Sakai has posted the centimeter sizes for all characters. You can see your height once you obtain the scale room item. Though it will measure it as "KV" which in reality is "cm".  To convert centimeter to feet, type this in google search bar. "###cm to ft"

Phantasy Star Portable 2: Pyu to Fuku Jaguar Collaboration, Exchange Mission, New Snow Field Boss

Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar

crutches

Kyosuke Usuta of Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar, created a very weird collaboration! The weapon is called "Crutches" and the outfit is "Violence Bandage". Though I have no idea how anyone can put so much weight on their bandaged foot, nevertheless you can obtain these items at a future date.

Exchange Mission

You may have noted four options in the demo that pops up when you reach the mission select screen.

There will be an exchange mission located on Neudaiz called "Light Planet's Offering Box". As with PSU:AoI, if you offer up items like Photon Drops "フォトンドロップ", the offering box may give you something back! May the holy light be with you!

offering box

We hated this box in PSU…

exchange

Hey the Melton's Shop moved to a new location!

exchange also

I guess he's looking for items too…

Snow Field Boss

douga dounga

Douga Dounga

A new machine boss  "ドゥガ・ドゥンガ" appears in the snow field! In the screenshots you can see a bridge as well as an ice version of the Bil De Vear. I can't tell if this area is a reskin, but at least it is visually different from anything we've seen so far.

Blog Updates and Interview

4gamer

Can you believe it! Last week the official blog took a day off! Anyway, since the demo is out, they aren't covering  any game changing details like they did before. This time they have switched focus to the Little Wing Early Experience Party.

Around different shops in Japan, Sakai will be giving out cards to get exclusive items with passwords. I have posted the codes in a previous blog post. I won't put up passwords for items you have to pay for though. Aside from the purchasable download items, I think the "Sonic Knuckle" weapon is the only item you need to purchase something to get the password for it.

Sakai was interviewed by several gaming magazine sites. Most of his responses were propaganda but he did say a few interesting things.

  • Interview Notes
    • There are a few collaboration items not revealed as of yet.
    • They plan on starting a collaboration plan.
    • This project will run for about half a year to a year.
    • You'll be able to download the items from the Playstation Store
    • Story Mode can be completed in 20-30 hours.

  • Reminder
    • The first batch of Internet Multimode Demo codes have been sent.
    • If you weren't selected, next week is another batch of 50,000 people.
    • Internet multimode Demo runs from the 9th to the 30th.

Phantasy Star Zero Microsite Opens

logo

Phantasy Star Zero now has a microsite. So because of this I can now update my Japanese terms to the American terms. During November, older blog posts related to PSZero will be updated to keep in sync with the American version, though I also have to keep up with PSP2 news so please be patient! I'm also very surprised to see this blog listed on the fan pages. Thanks Sega!

Phantasy Star Universe GM's Ruby Eclipse and Edward will be holding an event in San Francisco on November 4th from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. If you attend we'd like you to not only ask questions about PSZero but about the fate of PSU. Shougai PSO speculates that Sega will announce PSZero Mini, PSU Supplemental update, and maybe even the PSP2 release date. (Remember these are speculations…) The rappy balloon will also be given out to attendees, for now 30 people will be invited to the event.
