PSO2 JP: Indirectly Cheating and Scratch Rotation

Sega is carrying out suspensions of those who use cheating programs or deal with any part of the transaction in Real Money Trading. However, they've confirmed that other players are taking advantage of this by staying in the same room for long periods of time with cheaters, so they too can acquire large amounts of EXP, Items, and Meseta. This act promotes cheating and allows you to gain an unfair advantage within the game.

Once they have decided that you have done this intentionally, they will carry account suspensions based on Clause 9 in the Terms of Service. They ask players not to perform these acts, and if you spot any cheaters, you should leave the area immediately and report them.

Phantasy Star Online 2 requires an update in order to continue playing the game. When you open the launcher, the game will automatically update both the game and launcher if necessary. The eight hour long maintenance should be completed soon. The next scheduled content update is slated for November 21st, 2012.

  • Version 01.03.04

Client Update

  • ver. 1.0103.1
  • Windows Administrator Permissions Fix [Dark Sun] or [Manta]

Patch Notes

  • Since the amount of EXP needed to reach the level cap was reduced in the 11/7 update, those who acquired EXP equivalent to "level 51" or above will have their extra EXP converted into EXCubes. Your EXCubes can be found in the special storage box.
  • Fixed a bug where under specific conditions you may be able to sell an equipped unit.
  • Changed the angle of the following accessories so they won't get buried underneath clothing:  Yellow Tail, White Tail, Demon's Tail
  • For the disks shown in the quest record, corrected a bug where it would show a different level from the level it actually dropped.

SEGA ID Registration Restored

Update 11/12/2012: Over the weekend,  when accessing the SEGA ID Registration page outside of Japan, users were greeted to an error message barring access to the site.  As of 11/12/2012, this error message has been removed and new accounts can now be created without needing a Japanese proxy.

お客様の環境からはご利用できません。

The previous error message made the site unavailable based on the physical location of the user signing up. During that time, when accessing the page from a Japanese proxy, the website was online and accepting email address for new signups. However, this has not affected the SEGA ID Management page which was still accepting users outside of Japan.

We can conclude that SEGA blocked registrations due to the influx of RMTers (Real Money Traders) and bots automatically signing up for the game when they were previously banned. There's a possibility that from time to time, the SEGA ID Registration page may block access to those outside of Japan (perhaps when it detects a large stream of accounts being created.)
