Little Wing License and Reporting Online Cheaters in Phantasy Star Portable 2

Well if you've been playing Phantasy Star Portable 2 (US/EU) version online, you may have noticed a few shady players who somehow "magically" reached to level 200 with type level 30. Or maybe you noticed enemies are regularly dropping Tumikiri Hyori even when Shizuru is nowhere to be seen. It appears Sega will actively support the international servers by removing hackers and cheaters online.

Little Wing License Updated

The Little Wing License is a code that enables you to access the Online Multiplayer portion of the game. The Little Wing License was supposed to disallow those with illegitimate versions of the game from connecting online. The License is now updated to only allow those with a valid code to play the game online.

All users now need the code granted within the retail copy of the game or which was automatically awarded when purchased digitally to access the online servers.  [Ruby Eclipse]

If you have already entered the code and are still having problems logging on. You should try to redownload the Little Wing License from your Playstation Store or Account Management Transaction History.

In my personal test I was able to connect without having to redownload the Little Wing License.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity CGs and Clad 6 Beach Resort

Famitsu did a small news story regarding the new CGs and beach area.

Character CGs

Beast Male somehow lost his goatee from the concept art…

The Male Cast in Knightly Armor.

Newman Female's maiden like appearance.

The Female Human Pop Idol

Beast Female Couture

Clad 6 Resort Colony

This beach isn't naturally made on any planet. In fact it exists within Clad 6 resort colony where the main characters reside.  However, monsters have been unleashed into this area making this environment no longer enjoyable to it's citizens.

Koko Merodda
It has spikes on it's hard shell.
Bullets have no effect on it if you attack it from the front.
It has a charged attack that hits victims close by.

Gol Lilly
A plant monster like the poison lily.
It spits out ice at those in it's proximity.

Jaggo Rizona
Its a cute monster but they like to attack in groups.

Geer Zog  (Geel Zog)

This mutated creature attacks on a floating foothold making the whole stage tilt based on it's weight. It has various attacks including scattering mines across the stage. When it's HP is low, it changes it's color from Blue to Red.

Charge Shot II scan

Basically the premise behind Charge Shot II is how it works similarly to Phantasy Star Zero's photon arts for ranged weapons. Read more about it here and here.

Laser Cannon shoots a very large beam that shoots out the front.

Twin Handgun, after a fast dash, you make a somersault and shoot blindly at enemies.

PSP2i: Lobby Sneak Peek and New Screenshots

Today we look at several screenshots of Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity and a sneek peek of the visual lobby menu.

Sakai updated this morning saying he has a cold.  So he's showing off two color variations of the Visual Lobby.

Visual Lobby Variation

The visual lobby is a new feature where Online Multiplayer gamers can meet up before starting a party. The lobby is somewhat similar to PSO's lobby in design.

The menu shows some expected features like Party List and Lobby List. At the bottom it says "Online Shop". I wonder what that could be.

New Screenshots

Here's Nagisa in bodily form. As you may already know, she's a Duman who's' been traveling alone for some time. Despite how powerful she is, she's requesting a guard from Little Wing to escort her. But it appears this is just a cover for her to meet one of Little Wing's main characters.

Nagisa from Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity.

In one of the promo videos it appears she meets up with Emilia. It must have something to do with Wynarl and Mika… (OMG SPOILERS)

Duman from Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity

The Dumans are of a new race that are some sort of a genetic mutation of the Humans. They have a dark power hidden within their eyes, and can overpower the other races.  It appears the birth of this race may have something to do with the SEED attacks 3 years ago, but it's not very clear. Here's the female Duman in the visual lobby.

What a lovely camera angle!

Infinity Blast a Duman ability

Photon is concentrated in a certain part of the body and is unleashed as an attack. The Dumans can invoke this new ability called Infinity Blast. Based on your battle type Hu/Ra/Fo/Br, the infinity blast attacks differently. One unique feature of this blast is how it can be extended even longer by attacking in a chain. When we viewed the TGS demonstration, the Infinity blast lasted for a pretty long time.

Friend Partner

Of course my favorite feature is Friend Search. It allows you to obtain someone else's character and bring them along with you in missions, with their weapon palette and autowords intact.

Cream Friend Partner

As you can see, Sonic downloaded his friend's character Cream. It appears friend partners are stored under a new menu next to the partner card. It shows the partner card icon but with an S written on it.  Gamespot Japan is unsure of whether the Friend Partner's level is the same as yours. However, this seems to be the case when looking at the beach TGS video.  Then there's the recently discovered info of inviting the other characters you made on your save file according to Sega's TGS magazine.

Olga Flow in Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity

Olga Flow is back and not only does he fall from a never ending tube. He attacks you again when you reach the bottom.

Charge Shot II

Shougai uncovered some minor tidbits regarding Charge Shot II. Charge Shot II was detailed in a previous post here.

  • Charge Shot II
    • Charge Shot II is a new charge shot attack animation for ranged weapons.
    • Charge Shot II can be activated with the triangle button.
    • Ranged weapons randomly include Charge Shot I or Charge Shot II.
    • (Basically you may pick up a weapon with the old Charge shot, or you may find a weapon that has Charge Shot II)
    • After the Final Grind, you may grant a ranged weapon with either Charge Shot I or Charge Shot II.
    • (Basically if I grind my Leek Rifle to 10, then use an extend code, I can apply Charge Shot II)
