  1. I sure hope those system requirements arent final. Because thats a big red flag if you want this to exist alongside base PSO2 since one of the great things about PSO2 was it can run on a lot of systems. I understand NGS is supposed to look nicer but surely they can optimize it more.

    1. I commented about a similar thing in a past thread. I personally think that the modern game developer mindset is that they're under the assumption we already have systems capable of meeting these specs if we're playing modern/newer games. Considering PSO2 is getting an engine update too, I'm more intrigued at how well this would translate between higher and lower spec systems.

It can be expensive if you opt for a higher spec graphics card (let alone needing to upgrade your system to accomodate it). Then again, if your system is incapable of meeting at least the minimum requirements, purchasing a console might actually be more economical under the right circumstances.

    2. It is likely only the beta requirements. If you played any of the previous beta tests for the game (including the one on PS4), the graphics requirements were significantly higher (and performance on PS4 was incredibly poor). When the game was released, everything ran fine.

    3. They're being forward thinking, 8 years down the road these specs will be easier to achieve, they alreadybafe optimized, if I doed hard has to spend alot to keep up theu can jusy get cloud version, theu already confirmed it.

    1. PSO2 JP is for people only japan and they let people play, so despite not being in japan you can still register

    2. One of the requirement are "currently living in Japan" so while you can register you might not be choosen as tester. The newly released Sakura wars mobile game have an IP block so it's kinda worrying.

  2. Maybe it'd be best to specify the closed beta period is scheduled for a weekend between late January and early February. Probably either Jan 23-24, Jan 30-31 or Feb 06-07. Hope they announce the exact date during the upcoming live stream.

It'd be good if applicants kept their timezone in mind, assuming it's possible to be selected for the test even if you're not in Japan. Sega is asking for players who can actively play during the test period, too.

  3. >【Low / Medium Quality】Intel Core i5-9400 or equal
    >【Low Quality】1280x720

i want to know what kind of weeds are they on when deciding this

btw for some reason i can't register with firefox and it keeps reloading after placing captcha. but it went just fine with chrome, anyone have the same issue?

  4. Halp! Anyone have any idea how I can answer the capcha? I have zero knowledge of Hiragana but would like to try to register for this beta.

    1. Google for Lexilogos Hiragana. It'll help you visually match and type the Hiragana you need for the capcha.

  5. Honestly the system requirements is kinda steep despite my current rig is 32GB DDR4, R7 3700X and RX 5700XT and some games are too demanding or too taxing. One of my worries will be texture pop ins and draw distance and curious on how fast will PSO2 NG will load on HDD, SSD and M.2 if there will be any impact aside from loading time and texture assets streamed at the same time.

    1. Minimums looks kinda fine. For High detail, 16 GB RAM and 10900K for 1080p looks quite high… at least I can now justify my overbuilt system with an R9 5900X, 32 GB RAM and a RX5700XT :3

  6. To all of you who are panicking because you cannot afford to build a gaming PC, do remember that the game will be playable on a modest XBOX series S at only $250.

And if you cannot even afford $250 then you have way bigger issues than not being able to play the latest installment of your favorite MMO series.

Ultimately this will be 2021, not 2010.
The industry cannot remain forever hostage to your low end machines and empty pockets.

    1. It's not even out yet, why are you judging the graphics already? They've clearly been listening to feedback and making changes accordingly (hell, they changed the opening cinematic, I've never even heard of such a thing before) so I'm sure they'll work that sort of stuff out later on.

    2. >the industry can't be accomodating for people without fat wallets
      >if you can't randomly drop a few hundred on a console drop the game, only people with large amounts of disposable income have any business with a f2p game as a means of forgetting for a few hours at a time that the real world sucks
I hope you step on a d4. by all means, throw around the money you apparently have however you want, but don't be denigrating people who don't have the luxury of big purchases like you do.

    3. Yea and there's the issue that SOME of us don't want to buy an Xbox for just one or two games. (personally I want to play Halo but that and PSO2 simply aren't enough, there's no true exclusives other than Halo I want to play on Xbone and I doubt XBSX will be any different)

  7. what? cpu i9 16gb ram and 2070 at full hd but whats with reqs for 4k? wow if its the final reqs my pc from oct 2020 is too slow for it 😀

  8. Can anyone translate this? I saw it from CBT Entry page.
Does it means that those who didn't win the 1st CBT lottery will be automatically registered for 2nd CBT lottery?
More lottery to try I guess..
